Dc is one of the best mechanics I know, he was a marine and now does this as a hook up for friends who need help... He did spark plus, wires, full throttle body cleaning, oil change, valve adjustment , some beer, then finished by pulling engine codes and topping off all fluids, then had another beer and rotated the tires. When finished said if I needed anything call and went home... |

I first priced new brake pads and shoes at the register. Then told them to do the job. After a half hour the mechanic came out and told me I need a Brand new wheel Assembly because the Caliper holding pin wouldn't rotate like it was supposed to. They were thoroughly disappointed when I told them its not supposed to rotate. Just install new brake pads. Then when I was paying I found out they charged me more for the parts than if I had purchased them at the register. When I called Pep Boys Headquarters on Hunting Park Ave. in Phila. I was told that it was standard procedure for them to charge all shop customers more for the parts. That is and was the last time I went to Pep boys. Standard procedure to rip off customers. |

We changed the spark plugs wires and I think it was the rotor not sure if thats what its called on my dodge. My check engine light came on and my truck felt like it was jumping a bit. Had a friend mechanic check it out. Said it was a #2 cylinder misfire and that it could be more than one thing and advised a tune up. So far the light has disappeared but said it could come back on if it was an additional issue besides that. Just wanted to see what the average cost would have normally been. Seems I got a good deal. |
