Chrysler/Dodge minivans apparently wear out rear brakes before the front. New ceramic pads--a little better than stock. Resurface the rotors. I think we could look around and get a little less, but this shop has served us well on other minor repair work.

Called mechanic and asked him how much for repair of front rotors and pads - have to bring 2006 in for recall anyway. He quotes me 360. before tax - so about 400. My brother says we can do the job for about 100. So I opt out. It's an easy repair with simple tools on newer cars. I changed the brake pads on an old Dodge years ago - it was a bear of a job. It's alot easier now that most guys can handle.

4 rotors, 4 brakes, 1 calaber. Way, way too much and I plan to learn to do my own brakes for now on. I feel like a sucker.

I did this job myself. Brakes don't take many tools and are really not that difficult. Just remember to pump the brake back up after you get the new rotors and pads on or you will be in for a surprize when you can't stop the vehicle.

My daughter took her car in cuz grinding. Original quote was $485, including oil change and rotating tires - which I thought was for 4 brake pads & rotors. On pickup - charge was $579.00!!!! And, was told only for front brake pads & rotors. After serious "discussion", price was reduced to $424.70. Car has 48,000 miles on it.

A local mechanic with his own truck full of tools came to my house and changed the rear shoes, drums, and spring hardware at six o clock in the evening. All parts were Wagner ThermoQuiet and came with lifetime warranty. Couldn't be more satisfied

Only 25K original miles however mostly in city which is why brakes/rotors needed to be replaced so soon. Very happy with service as well as cost for amount of work/parts involved. Two Honda dealerships wanted close to $1000 for the same work!

Front brakes were very loud, got estimate of $600, late got a call from Spatan that I needed all brakes, calipers, rotors, drums, etc...

Rear brakes almost worn completely away but I had no idea bc the car was braking fine with no strange sounds. Replaced before new rotors were necessary. Plus and additional $175 for the maintenance check up, which is when they discovered the brake problem, so a $500 total.

Jacked front end and put on jack stands, jacked rear then removed all four wheels. Replaced rear pads. Removed front caliper and knocked front rotors loose with 5 pound hammer. Installed new rotors and pads. Rotated wheels and reinstalled. Down jacked car. 90 minutes

I wasn't prepared for such a price. I remember replacing the front disc brakes on my 1970 Datsun for a few dollars. I've had a 94 Camry, a 2001 Camry and a 2004 Camry. I don't remember replacing the brakes on the 94 or the 2001. I traded the 2004 for the Kia, it had 139000 miles and I had never replaced the brakes. I do brake judiciously, coasting up to the red light etc. So maybe I'll go back to the Camry.

The brakes were replaced within 30 minutes of arrival. They seem to have done a good job. I didn't go with the more expensive pads, it's an old car and these are the back wheels so they should last a long, long time.

Mr. Brake quoted me $175+ tax to replace rear pads with brand name ceramic ones. The local Toyota dealership quoted $275.

I researched the cost for parts before and about 200 or more of this was labor. A little more than I planed to spend and they should have told me about the rotor that needed to be replaced the first time they looked at it.

Prices were all about 40% higher than if i bought the parts myself.
They flushed the entire system and bled the brakes,test drove to condition the pads, and provided transportation to an from office.

Way too expensive for only the rear, but my wife couldn't leave work to drive it to Firestone. This is Hawaii, so I don't know if it would be that much cheaper. Co-workers say it's not that unreasonable.

i charge 50-100 dollars it's not that difficult so i don't beat people in the head and yes i clean the car out 2

The Bill Jacobs Dealership wanted $950! I decided to shop around instead and Tuffy charged a much more reasonable price.

Think it was a little steep, but just had all 4 rotors replaced on a 44000 mile chevy pickup as well as the front and rear brake pads.

My brakes had began grinding a day or two before. I went in for a quote. They warned they didnt think they had enough time to do it immediately; Id haveto come back Monday after 4th July holiday.
ON inspection the mechanic said I needed new rotors we can't turn composite rotors", it would be 2.5 hrs labor $605...I said 'hell no' Ill have to come back when I have the money. Why does it cost at least $500 every time I go to garage? The manager replied "you must be tough on your cars" On starting to replace the brakes the mechanic came back in and said they'd have to put a waiver on the reciept because the brakes were not legally safe. At that point I agreed to go ahead with the job...?? Not happy...They were all very pleasant but the price is crazy and they led me to believe it was dangerous to drive as they were. they completed the job in 2 hrs Went in about 3:20 and was ready and 5:30

On vacation in PA. Brakes started grinding awful. 104,000 miles on vehicle, brakes never done before. One caliper broke and ruined front rotor. As I plan to keep this vehicle I choose to replace all 4 rotors and 2 front calipers along with pads. Also did brake line flush, they recommended but do not know the purpose of this. Happy with brake job, but maybe not the price. LOL

RIP OFF!! After looking on this site I shopped around and I found the same service (Front and rear brakes, front rotors, and brake fluid flush, plus labor) for $300.00!! Wow do I feel stupid. I learned my lesson.
