Needed them done and probably should have shopped around. Also told me the rear brakes needed some work which I declined. I would have had a bill of $830 if I had everything they "claim" needed to be done. I got ripped off...

Brakes were squeaking. Drove to Meinike. Fixed them in an hour with a lifetime guarantee. I think the price is a bit high but I couldn't beat the convenience and now the brakes are working better than they have since I bought the car.

I had my car in for an oil change and the mechanic said that the pads were almost worn through at 50,000 miles. I wasn't sure I should have this work done at a dealer but I hate making car decisions so gave the go ahead to get it done. Pads were approx $57.00 and $135.00 labor for an hour of work but seems ok compared to other posts. They said they used Toyota parts, not aftermarket.

$345 - front pads and rotors. $225 - front calipers
Think I could have come away with just pad replacement. Didn't know to ask about grinding rotors. Then they said the calipers started leaking when they were working on it.
Can't help feeling ripped off, but looks like these prices are not uncommon in the northeast.

It cost me $700 to have the front and rear pads and the front and rear rotors replaced (not resurfaced). After looking around online for prices on parts, I think it should have cost under $600.

This price seems about right. I trust this garage. Price is quoted as including taxes etc. I'm almost positive my rotors needed replacing--70,000 miles with original brake pads, which were worn through. Anyone think this is 'way off?

$170 for high quality, ceramic Hawk brake pads, front and back. Installation is a breeze, hardest part is taking the wheels off. If a shop charges more than 1/2 hour labor, they are ripping you off. All you need to do is take off the wheel, remove one caliper bolt, slide up the caliper, and remove the pads. Do not let a shop rip you off and do not go to a discount shop, they will use cheap parts.

Front disc service and ceramic pads. Rear brake service, including new brake shoes and wheel cylinders. Free oil change and tire rotation.

Second major brake service in 4 years on minivan (different auto shop). Let's face it, we are getting shafted twice! First by the automakers overcharging for less than adequate quality cars and second for the autoshops getting sloppy seconds!

When the heck are they going to invent spaceships anyway???

I was quoted $932 for front and rear breaks and rotors. It was steep, but I needed it done and didn't want to shop it around. When I drove out, my breaks were squeeking worse than when I went in. I brought it back two weeks later, and they told me I needed calipers (they forgot to mention that before) and it would be another $750. DO NOT GO THERE.

Had rear brakes replaced last time. This time brakes caused car to lock up and VSA to come on in the rain on 2 successive intersections trying to get the car rolling. They found deep grooves etched into them,so replaced.I thought cost high, but now I'm not sure. They seem to cost a lot on a minivan.
