Muffler Cost - Buyer Experiences and Price Information

I wished I'd known of this site. I was scalped.

Price a little higher than expected - muffler is after-market with limited warantee. However, service very professional and friendly, and work was finished in 45 minutes. Mechanic saw my state inspection was due and offered to do it (not included in price).

Had quotes of $600 - $400 to replace muffler when Midas 'repaired' my existing muffler for $80!

To replace muffer and gasket.

Exhaust Pipe was 225, Muffler was 175, Labor was 150 at Midas. I believe this is really overpriced

Was quoted an entire front pipe by 2 of the "big-chain" shops. They were both over $400. A friend told me about Fair Muffler, and wow. They replaced just my flex pipe (which was the only part that was leaking) for about $150 with labor and tax. The employees had a great, friendly attitude. The price was excellant and they had my car finished in under an hour. I will be seeing them again!

This lil small town muffler shop is fantastic ! Its a do -it-all lil country shop, and the owner , who has over 20 years of exhaust experience, will give you your moneys worth, PERIOD ! I was clearly shown how some other muffler shops were trying to "rip me off', telling me my converter was cloggeg up, needing replaced at a cost of $200 ! That wasnt the problem at all? He diagnosed my problem, replaced my fuel filter, charged me $22, and i was on my way, my truck running as good as new again ! Talk about an honest bussinessman !!

Went in to get exhaust worked on. Installed new flex pipe and some other pipe. Cut and welded in 3 spots with new hangers. Didn't bother shopping around, could have probably gotten a better deal.

I asked how much it would cost and it was less than quoted.They were willing to show me on my van what was to be replaced and was out in less than an hour!

Had shop put on a Stainless Steel Magnaflow Wide Open Performance Exhaust with Life Time warr. and a new intm. Flex Pip section of the exhaust.

New muffler, pipes, labor, hangers

Merlins wanted almost $500 for a new muffler and a tail pipe. We went to an auto care center and paid $200. Stay away from Merlins. They should be on the rip off report.

The shop did a bad job. I got an Exhaust leak. Who ever you use be sure you trust them

I had to replace my muffler. They did a visual inspection as well and found a few other things that needed attention. Overall, they were friendly, quick, and gave written estimates before doing the work.

i went in expecting a $100 muffler replacement, but then the downpipe needed replacing, and after they got that off the catalytic converter was melted and would have destroyed the new muffler, so don't be surprised if the price goes up 200%

i need a muffler couple days ago the muffler was taken off ... and we need a coplete set do you know where i can get one?
