Auto glass tinting is often done for cosmetic reasons, but there are also health and safety considerations. Glass that is tinted tends to be more shatter resistant because the film helps hold the pieces together. Tinted windows can serve as a theft-deterrent, shielding the interior of the vehicle from prying eyes. According to the Skin Cancer Foundation, window film on glass can protect vehicle occupants from ultraviolet rays.
Typical costs:
The price depends on the brand and type of tint used, as well as the size or type of vehicle. Average costs for tinting range from $150 to $225 for passenger cars; $150 to $195 for trucks; and $170 to $250 for SUVs and minivans.
What should be included:
A typical "all-around" tint job involves the rear window, two or four door windows as well as two or four triangle windows. The price quoted should include, at the minimum, basic, non-reflective film and installation on all windows except the windshield.
A limited warranty against bubbling or peeling should be included for at least one year. Some shops (usually those that are members of a national chain) offer lifetime warranties that follow the car's Vehicle Identification Number (VIN).
Additional costs:
Removal of old tint costs an average of $25 with the purchase of new tint.
Many automotive tint shops offer upgrades from standard, non-reflective tinting, such as hybrid, full metal, titanium, stainless or colored tints. Price will depend on the manufacturer and type selected.
Discounts:
Discounts for automotive tinting can often be found on individual shop websites.
Shopping for window tinting:
Laws on tinting car windows vary by state. There can be different regulartions regarding allowable colors, acceptable percentage of visible light transmission and percentage of reflectivity. The International Window Film Association provides a state-by-state chart of automotive tint laws.
I had my old tint removed at $20 per window (5 windows) then installed 5% in the rear 3, and 20% in the front 2. I was told the large back window and two small windows would cost more.
I had All my windows tinted And everything came out great. I Had a few bubbles in my driver window but they took it right back when i called and fixed it for free. They have a great system and are known for there car detailing as well.

Auto Shop: looks that sell
on my vacation me and my wife went down to looks that sell and got our 2 front side roll down windows tinted 35% tint on our 2000 Ford Ranger XLT and they do a really good work and i would go back to them again
A friend recommended this shop. They've had their car done for about two years now. He works around your schedule. He did a really good job and now I've began recommending him. I would definitely go back. Take it to the next level -4072094030
I took my car to these people to have my windows tinted and they did a horrible job. I have bubbles and chips all over the place. Not only did they do a terrible job but they over-charged me as well. If that's not bad enough, they had my car from 8am until about 4:30pm. If you live in Columbia, MO please do not take your car here.
I have been tinting windows for 5 years. Took me 6 mths to perfect the tinting, Do not buy the cheap stuff at Wally world. I use what the pro's use. But I'm a due it your self type of person. and I love saving money for other useful things like fishing and boating. I had my Camaro at 5% on side's, Back Glass was 1.5% front window was done @ 35%. i do it alone so it takes me approx 8 hours. I was recently pulled over, and was ticketed for to dark a tint. 150.00 ticket, so lets add this up?? 100.00 for tint 150.00 ticket 80.00 court cost. But Skin cancer runs in family, so ticket was dropped (I am allergic to UVB rays in my eyes.) So the officer was dumbfounded when the court cost was also dropped. I have sense painted my car yellow (was black) and my tint is now 20% side's, 5% back, 35% front. he will be harassing me if he pulled me over again, I want to be pulled over again, to show them Im a grown adult, and am a USA citizen and am In a free county.. RIGHT???
I used Orlando Window Tint Specialists in Casselberry for my window tinting. When I talked to them over the phone they said they had a couple of different films and the prices were all different. They suggested coming in to see all of the window films and choosing after learning more about them. I went with the best film they carry. The LLumar CTX window film. I chose this film because of the high heat rejection and lack of signal interference (i-phone, gps, epass etc.) It is a beautiful film and looks fabulous on my auto. keeping it legal with the 30% all the way around, classy and not too dark.
Take your cars where ever you want - I know the prices range and the film qualities/installer experience/shop quality all are reflected in the prices. I will be a customer for life @ Orlando Window Tint Specialists because they took great care of me and my car 407-628-8468

I have gone to these guys over 10 yrs, the main guy is one of the first tinters in fla. They are mobile and the film never goes bad. They know things like my computer needed covered during the process or water would ruin it. These guys know and lets face it, you get what you pay for.
I love my windows tinted, I feel totally protected. Clean shop, great people. Got a lifetime warranty with some good specs. These people said, yes you can get a $100 tint job. You can also buy a car for $2000. What are you getting? Made sense to me. They've been in business for a long time, great reputation, I figured they knew what they were talking about.
Did a great job the 35% all around looks amazing not to mention that all I had to pay for was the tint. (Although I'm not going to just not give him anything so I snuck a $5 bill in his car with a not saying thanks for the tint!)
Best Tint shop ever ....... good work looked great .... price was fair and they were way better than the rest of the tint shops in town.. I even got a remote start with keyless installed there for 250 $ love it ....
I got all around job tinted with 20% and an upgrade from the basic tint film which blocks 20% more heat versus the traditional. The basic would've cost $225, with the upgrade, it was $325. I also tinted the windshield with 50% ceramic which blocks out even more heat than the one on the other windows, $150. Price wise was decent for the area. Other places charges about $200 for my van for the basic tinting versus $225.

Excellent job. Matched the back windows factory tint perfectly, affordable, and fast. It only took them about 30 minuets while i waited in their lounge. I enjoyed the experience and outcome so much that I made an appointment the same day to have them do a full wrap including a 10" strip on the windshield on my `99 Stratus for only 155.00
Awesome job fast and best qualty of work i have ever got. I got 15% and I love it ... The new store on coliseum is way bigger and better than the old one . They have lots of car audio instock and accessory for your car or truck . loved this place . Was not happy they could not give me a ride , but the wait was not too long so i guess it was ok .
Fantastic, highly recommend ! Great customer service; they come to you and totally explain the different types of tint and state laws. Happy with the outcome on my car - Give them a call 562-235-2533 or find them on Yelp
