AAA was at my driveway within the promised 45 minutes... guy took about 15 minutes to install new battery, 10 to write the invoice, pack up and leave. Previous battery is 3 weeks short of 3 years old, but in the desert, that's about all they last. The past 2 days it had been sluggish to start, I thought I might have a couple more days... to get me to the weekend... but nope. Thankful I was not out someplace that I could not wait comfortably!!!

Of course the cheaper batteries, $47 and $65, didn't fit my car but installation was free. Yea $75 is probably too much but not as bad as others paying over $100. I could have shopped around more but all i need is to be stuck somewhere and then pay $200 for them to come to my car and install it.

My battery died the other night while out doing errands and when the AAA guy came and tested it, it was close to 0 amps so I HAD to purchase one from him right then. The cost seemed excessive, especially now comparing it to others, but it did come with a 6 year warranty so I don't feel too bad about it in hindsight.

For all of my bad luck today, I had a good tip from a friend to go to AutoZone to replace my dead battery, which was really easy. I was there for maybe 20 minutes, and the guy totally took care of my van problem for me. It was ABSOLUTELY worth the money spent. I had my two young kids with me, and let me tell you... walking into that business was all I had to do. He did the rest. I said, "I need a battery for my '05 Honda Odyssey, and I want the one with the longest warranty", handed him my credit card, took my kids to the bathroom, cleaned out my car while he changed the battery, voila, DONE. The battery install was included in the cost. WOW! Thanks AutoZone Guy!!! If you can't do it yourself, or don't want to (like me today - two little kids and a husband away on business) - go there, they'll fix you up.

Don't overpay at the autostore! They will give you the top of the line battery you don't really need unless you plan to keep your car for another 8 years. You can get a decent 3-5 year battery at Coscto, Walmart or auto store and install it yourself. If you can loosen and tighten some bolts you can do it!

Very easy and quick replacement. Pretty expensive, but I got a quote from NAPA for 144.00 (plus tax). So I took the easy road and had AAA come to my house. My last batt cost only 61.00 at Kragen 6 yrs ago (!), so there is apparently massive price inflation for batts!

$75+5 core(NY) at Walmart.. can't be beat, unless you go to a fee club like bj's or costco. So far, so good. This IS a DIY job if you can turn a wrench and can follow directions. Auto svc centers will hose you north of $100+ easily (including a $15-25 install charge) for something that takes less than 10 minutes.

This battery is EverStart MAXX (9-year prorate/3yr rep.) grp 24fn 875/700cca premium battery. I read bad things about walmart prorating the warranty online.. hope I won't have a bad experience when the time comes again.

Note: in Honda accords.. slow crank over most likely is the battery beginning to fail, not tune-up related (plugs) esp if your battery is banging on 5-6 years old. That's about how long the stock Honda battery lasted. At least they didn't put something in the manual saying you have to replace with a geniune Honda battery or your car will have bad mojo... lol

Dead battery from leaving the hatch not completely closed. battery was 5 1/2 years old. they did a diagnostic, blah blah. and they kinda have you by the...said they wouldn't charge installation. took away old, original battery. I could've done better at Costco or other place i am sure but, hey time is money and it was convenient, so why not. Now i'm set for the next 5+ years (car will be long gone!)

Had previously bought the battery from Autozone a little over three years ago -- didn't run the car for 6 months, so the battery was totally dead. I decided to stop by Autozone even though their prices seem high. Turns out I could get credit for over half the amount because the battery I turned in was only a few years old. So it was just $22.68 out-of-pocket for a new battery. I was pleasantly surprised. I don't know a lot about cars, but if you're replacing a battery that died early, maybe try checking back at the place where you bought it to see if you get a pro-rated credit.

AAA showed up in 20min, replaced my 7 year old dead as a doornail battery from the car that had been sitting in the garage for 1 year. 3 year service warranty, 3 years' pro-rated AAA replacement. Cash, credit cards, check all acceptable payment. Probably overpaid vs. Sears or AutoZone but was worth my time.

My car won't start tis morning, called AAA and their service guy said it as a dead battery and offer to replace it for $105, with taxes and disposal fee comes to $113 and I can charge it to credit card but cleaning off the terminals where the batteries connect was $20, cash only. I have a AAA invoice that states there is a 72 months total limited warranty.

I really didn't have a choice since I live by myself and without a car or a clue about car batteries, I would have to pay even if I thought it as too high.

Nissal altima needs 550 CCA but if you are getting more CCA at low rate, it is all good for u. I changed from Costco. It cost me $62 + tax. I have to change it manually or have to go to some garage as Costco dont provide service to replace the battery.

Picked it up at an old fashioned auto parts place and installed it in five minutes. Any man who can't put a battery in a car is a sorry excuse for a man.

Go ahead, pay $170 at Sears, or learn how to do it and save $90.

I went to Sears this morning and they charged $12.00 to test my battery. If I chose to buy a new battery from them the $12.00 installation/labor fee would be waived since I had them test it as well. I bought a basic DieHard battery with 3 year warranty for a total cost of $113.00. Everything went smoothly and my battery no longer stutters when I turn my vehicle on!
