I love this place! It was recommended to me and he is a good, trustworthy mechanic. He worked for Honda for years and only does Hondas and Acuras. His prices are awesome and he only uses Honda parts. I paid to have all the clutch parts replaced, the input shaft bearing replaced, and the transmission fluid changed. He said the labor was $325 of the amount. The $36 bucks was tax, so he really only charged me $600. |

My car kept reving but wouldnt go anywhere. emailed clutchcity. and was told that it sounded like my clutch was slipping and i would need my fly wheel replaced. ordered one new from them went on yellow pages.com and found the shop that had a good review. it was more than i thought it would be but apparently thats average so i know i wont be speeding off as much as i used to. |

The price wasn't bad but they took over two months to fix it. One mechanic even put something in wrong so I had to wait an extra day on top of everything just for them to fix it. Again. Do not go here. |

just a thought to all those who might do this job yourself i have two thoughts: you will save quite a bit of money, be patient when you put the transmission back in. It is labor intensive but not difficult. All i spent was on parts, and most mechanics charge some sort of mark-up on parts. |

I'm glad I found all these posts!!! I live in New York City, daily commute through extremely heavy vehicle/pedestrian traffic will kill the clutch fast. Knowing now what an average clutch replacement cost surely changed my mind in getting the 6-Speed transmission!!
Thanks all for you posts.
No "Zoom-Zoom" for me... |

I got a quote of $745 to have it replaced but they have to order the kit, so it will take several days they said. They said that if they have to do anything with the hydraulics then it will be more expensive. |

I was flabbergasted when I got the total, but then quickly realized, I got a great deal. Plus, they felt so bad for the cost, that they fixed my exhaust and lights for nothing. They are really great guys! |

Was extremely surprised by the cost of replacing a Clutch. I could have got the clutch kit elsewhere for $200 less, but did not have that option. Looks like the labor involved is high and hence the high cost. Also fly wheel needs to be machined to make the clutch work well. |

I had the clutch in in 1999 Outback and this particular model is difficult to work on. They had to remove the engine and transmission. The whole process took over two weeks. |

replacing a clutch is not cheap when your clutch start slipping and ur rpm are reving high and ur car seems like it not moving fast?, u need to go and get ur clutch fix asap if not and you keep hammer it down?, you probably will do more damage and ur bill will be probably be 1,500-2,000 so don't let ur clutch slip too long or u will pay!! |

just had my clutch replaced and i was shocked by the cost involved. i thought that i could save a dollar by buying the clutch at my local auto parts store but it was still over 340 dollars.
now i'm no auto specialist but i thought that the cost was a little high. what do you think. |
